How Lessimp Works

Lessimp is a dating app with AI-powered matching, transparent algorithms, and privacy-first design. This page answers the questions we are asked most often about how the matching actually works and what you can find out about it.

What is Lessimp?

Lessimp is a dating application for people looking for meaningful connections rather than volume. Matching, content recommendations, and safety moderation are powered by AI agents, and the app is available on iOS, Android, and the web.

How is Lessimp different from other dating apps?

The difference is auditability. Lessimp is built on what we call a Glass Box principle: you deserve to know why our AI made a decision, not just what it decided. In practice that means three concrete things most dating apps do not offer:

• A published transparency report. Every calendar quarter we publish aggregate statistics on AI decision accuracy, bias audit results, enforcement actions taken, appeal outcomes, and data request volumes.
• Independent bias monitoring. Our AI agents are monitored for fairness and bias using Fiddler AI for agentic observability, rather than only by ourselves.
• Humans make the final call on enforcement. AI flags suspected policy violations, but the final enforcement decision is made by a Lessimp team member, not by the AI.

Does Lessimp use AI to match people?

Yes. Autonomous AI agents power matches, content recommendations, and safety moderation. We are explicit about this rather than describing it as an unnamed “algorithm”, and we publish how those agents are monitored.

Can I find out why the AI made a decision about me?

Yes. If an AI-driven decision affects you — a match recommendation, a moderation action, a safety flag — you have four rights, set out in full in our AI Disclosure:

• Right to Explanation — you can request the reasoning trace for any AI-driven decision that affects you.
• Right to Human Review — you may appeal an automated decision to a human reviewer, handled within 7 business days.
• Right to Object — you can opt out of certain AI-driven personalization in the app’s Privacy & Data settings. This may reduce match quality, but it does not affect your access to the service.
• Right to Restrict — under GDPR Article 22, EU residents have the right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing.

Can I turn the AI personalization off?

Yes, in the app’s Privacy & Data settings. Opting out may reduce match quality or content recommendation accuracy, but it does not affect your access to the service.
